Privacy & cookies
Plain version: this site has no forms and no accounts, so it collects almost nothing about you. What little it does collect is described below in full.
Who is responsible
Albert J. DiNitto, 8845 Grange Hill Rd, Sauquoit, NY 13456-2015, USA. Questions and requests: editor@churchillbeartrips.com.
What we do not collect
- No names, addresses or phone numbers — there is nowhere to enter them
- No payment or card information — nothing is sold here
- No accounts, logins or user profiles
- No newsletter list
- Nothing is passed to tour operators, ever
What is collected
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard web-server logs: IP address, date and time, pages requested, browser and operating system, and referring page. These are used for security and troubleshooting and are retained for up to 30 days.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and understand which guides are read. Statistics are aggregated; we do not attempt to identify individual visitors and we do not build advertising profiles.
Advertising measurement
We promote this guide through Google Search advertising. If you arrived from an ad, Google may set cookies to measure that the ad led to a visit. We do not run remarketing, we do not target sensitive categories, and we do not share visitor data with advertisers.
Email you send us
If you write to us, we hold that correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete it. We do not add correspondents to any mailing list and we do not forward messages to third parties.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies for personalisation or tracking. Cookies may be set by the advertising measurement described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; every page here works fully without them.
Third parties
Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of that request. Hosting is provided by our web host, which processes server logs on our behalf. Links to operators and tourism bodies lead to sites with their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Your rights
You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to a use. Email editor@churchillbeartrips.com and we will respond within 30 days at no charge. In practice, since we hold no personal records beyond email correspondence, there is usually very little to report.
If you are dissatisfied with our response you may complain to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, to your state Attorney General, or to your own national data protection authority if you are outside the United States.
Security, location and children
The site is served over HTTPS. Providers may store logs outside the United States; comparable protection is required by contract. This site is intended for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. Visitors in the EU, the UK and California may exercise the rights available to them under their own laws by writing to the address above.
Changes
If this notice changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
